Weekly 50 minute sessions work, but some seasons of life call for faster relief. An EMDR intensive condenses weeks of therapy into a single half-day or full-day session, giving your brain the time and space to fully process what it needs to, without stopping just as things open up.
What is an EMDR intensive?
An intensive is an extended, private EMDR session: three hours for a half-day and up to six hours for a full day, with breaks built in. We prepare together in advance, spend the intensive working through the memories and patterns that keep you stuck, and follow up afterward to make sure your progress holds.
Who are intensives for?
- You want relief in weeks, not months, from trauma, PTSD, or a painful memory
- A specific event keeps replaying: an accident, a loss, a betrayal, a frightening experience
- Your schedule makes weekly appointments hard: executives, parents, performers
- You have done talk therapy and feel you understand your story, but the feelings have not caught up
How it works
- Free 15 minute consultation to see if an intensive fits your situation
- A 50 minute preparation session covering history, goals, and coping skills
- Your intensive: a half-day or full-day telehealth session from the comfort of your home
- A follow-up session to review progress and plan any next steps
Intensives are private pay, and a superbill can be provided for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reach out for current rates and availability, and we will find the format that fits your goals.
